DigiTrio (Digitalization for a Novel Triad of Design, Fabrication, and Materials) brings together ten cutting-edge projects funded under the EIC Pathfinder Challenge, each investigating how digitalisation can fundamentally reshape the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) sector. Collectively, we build a collaborative research ecosystem aimed at transforming the way buildings and infrastructures are designed, produced, and operated. DigiTrio fosters interdisciplinary and cross-border cooperation, creating new opportunities to develop future value chains, strengthen ties with industry, and enhance commercialisation potential through coordinated portfolio activities. It serves as an active arena for innovation at the intersection of science, technology, and architecture, accelerating the development of smarter and more sustainable solutions for the built environment.

As a unified portfolio, DigiTrio is dedicated to advancing sustainable construction practices by focusing on reducing embodied carbon and implementing predictive approaches to design and manufacturing. Our shared ambition is to deliver tangible CO₂ reductions, enable more intelligent construction planning, and promote scalable, environmentally responsible methods that can be widely adopted across the AEC sector.
